The early departure of Florida’s Will Grier for the remained of the season really turned the SEC upside down this morning. But, that’s nothing compared to the bomb Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans just dropped: the Head Ball Coach is hanging up his visor.
The “R” word has been hanging over Spurrier’s head for a while. Before the season began, he tried to silence the haters with an impromptu press conference, where he said:
“I got some enemies out there, I got some guys talking and writing and it’s all part of the game,” the coach said Wednesday.
