After spending five seasons as an assistant coach, the former two-time National Champion for the Kentucky Wildcats will be the next head coach for the Wyoming Cowboys. He will step in for Larry Shyatt who resigned earlier today after five seasons. Edwards played at UK from 1994-98, finishing his career with two rings and 819 points on 30% shooting from behind the three-point line.
Edwards helped the Cowboys reach the NCAA Tournament last year after winning the Mountain West conference championship. Before heading West to Wyoming, he spent three years at VCU and was on the sideline when they upset Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
