The Kentucky Wildcats beat the Albany Great Danes 78-65 to open their season last night, and guard Jamal Murray’s strong performance earned the praise of Albany coach Will Brown. Speaking to reporters after the game, Brown called the Canadian freshman the “best player in the country” and offered some lofty comparisons.
“In my opinion, he’s a combination – for you basketball people – of Mark Jackson and Andre Miller, with a jump shot,” Brown said to reporters, including Guy Ramsey of UKAthletics. “Plays at a great pace. Great feel, great size. He can post up.
