After Capitol riot, Kentucky basketball players kneel during national anthem at Florida

Three days after a violent riot in support of President Donald Trump at the U.S. Capitol, the Kentucky men's basketball team elected to make a statement by kneeling as a group during the national anthem before Saturday's game at Florida.

Shortly after the game started, UK tweeted a picture of the team with arms locked kneeling along the baseline with fans standing for the anthem behind them. The tweet from the official men's basketball team account included the caption "together as one."

The demonstration marked the first in-game statement by Kentucky players since releasing a video promoting Black Lives Matter in the summer.
