Well, we were wrong. Again.
Just a week ago, we were among those saying the SEC football season appeared headed for an inevitable clash of Alabama vs. Georgia in the SEC Championship, which likely would serve as an appetizer for a rematch in the College Football Playoff.
That remains possible, but it hardly looks like a sure thing after top-ranked Alabama fell 41-38 to Texas A&M on Saturday.
It's worth noting that four of Nick Saban's six national championships at Alabama came with one-loss teams. It's also worth noting that each of the losses suffered by those championship teams came against opponents nationally ranked in the top 15.
