In 2011 the Kentucky Wildcats were handcuffed entering the season finale against Tennessee. Without a healthy quarterback, Joker Phillips and Randy Sanders developed an offensive game plan with Matt Roark under center. What followed is one of the most improbable victories in school history.
Roark took care of the ball and rushed for 124 yards, while the UK defense suffocated the Vols, limiting them to just 276 yards of offense. When the clock struck zero, Kentucky won 10-7, snapping a 26-game losing streak.
Assistant athletic director Tony Neely has seen many Kentucky football games in his many years of service.
