Normally I’m relegated to strictly covering the football team at Commonwealth Stadium, but tonight I am sitting on the floor of Rupp Arena. I’ve never been this close to the Kentucky basketball team before. I’m gonna do my best to keep it together, but until then I’m just gonna write about what the hell is going on.
— There’s nothing like walking out through the tunnel. I envisioned it thousands of times as a kid playing in the street, but to actually do it for the first time was breathtaking. I tried to not play it up beforehand – after all, I’m supposed to be a professional – but no matter how much I tried to keep my cool, it was an unforgettable experience.
