The third annual Kroger KSR Hometown Classic was once again a rousing success. Not only was the on-field product an exciting matchup between two evenly-matched teams, but it was also a reason to highlight how different — yet noticeably similar — the communities of Louisville Shawnee and Jackson County truly are.
Hailing from the west end of Louisville, the Shawnee Golden Eagles traveled nearly 150 miles to the small town of McKee in southeastern Kentucky to take on the Jackson County Generals. These two teams had never met until the 2020 season, but the series has quickly built itself into an annual rivalry.
