LEXINGTON – Former Kentucky track star Keni Harrison will make her Olympic debut Friday in the preliminary heats of the women’s 100-meter hurdles.
Here are three things to know about the world-record holder.
Erasing 2016 heartbreak
Even reaching Tokyo can be considered a major milestone for Harrison after she failed to reach the 2016 Rio Olympics despite entering the U.S. Olympic Trials as the favorite in the 100-meter hurdles.
In 2016, Harrison finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles final at the U.S. trials. Less than a month after that disappointment, Harrison broke the world record in the event at a meet in London, England.
