A trio of future Kentucky Wildcats performed as some of the state’s top players from this past season.
On Tuesday and Wednesday morning, the 2022 Lexington Herald-Leader All-State Boys’ and Girl’s Basketball Teams were announced, respectively. Class of 2023 UK commit Reed Sheppard, who is considered a top 25 prospect in the country according to the On3 Consensus, was named to the First-Team and tabbed as the Boy’s Player of the Year, garnering 31 first-place votes. The North Laurel product received the most All-State and POY votes.
Male junior forward and future Louisville Cardinal, Kaleb Glenn, earned the second-most All-State votes (726) and third-most for POY (23) while Clark County junior guard Jerone Morton finished with the third-most All-State votes (660) and second-most for POY (26).
