Kentucky’s list of potential frontcourt options for its class of 2020 dropped by one this afternoon.
2020 five-star power forward Dawson Garcia trimmed his list to seven schools, and after failing to extend a scholarship offer, the Wildcats did not make the cut.
The final list? Minnesota, Memphis, Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina, Marquette, and Arizona.
The Kentucky coaching staff had been in regular contact and had visited the five-star forward both in his hometown of Prior Lake, MN and at various recruiting events such as the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
In fact, at that specific event, Garcia told reporters that John Calipari and his assistants had been in “decent contact” with him and texted him “every couple of weeks,” using one of their go-to pitches: “Kentucky is not for everybody.
