And now, some unfortunate basketball recruiting news: 2016 point guard Dennis Smith had surgery on Friday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. Smith injured his knee in the semifinals of the adidas Nations event on August 2 and is expected to be out six to nine months for recovery.
Smith is one of three point guards Kentucky’s offered in the 2016 class. Kobi Simmons and De’Aaron Fox also have offers from the Cats, with interest in the latter picking up considerably in recent weeks. Smith recently cut his list to six: Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville, Duke, Wake Forest and NC State.
