Jay Shidler is a Kentucky Basketball alum with a national championship ring for his contributions to the beloved 1977-78 team, his second of four seasons in Lexington from 1976 to 1980. A four-year contributor under head coach Joe B. Hall, Shidler has plenty of stories to tell from his time as a Wildcat, playing alongside some of the all-time greats and on one of the all-time favorite teams. He has one of the best Kentucky Basketball nicknames, too: the Blonde Bomber.
Fans interested in some of the Blonde Bomber’s stories, including how he got the nickname, can tune into today’s KSR podcast to hear his interview in the final half-hour of Monday’s show.
