UK fans, you know the drill. Calipari reloads each and every year, and we spend November overreacting when his freshmen can’t defend, don’t hustle, don’t talk and make typical freshman mistakes that are commonplace and even expected at any other program. But we might be skipping that step this year because this team does not look the way most other young UK teams did in early November. This team already looks dialed in defensively, focused, unselfish and committed to Calipari’s plan. It helps that there are more veterans than we’re accustomed to, but even the newcomers look good for it to be only the second real game of their young careers.
