Zips Spoil Flashes Home Finale

KENT, OHIO- Akron second baseman Brad Goulet had a career day with three homers and six driven in as Akron spoiled the Golden Flashes' home finale in a 9-6 setback on Tuesday night.

Goulet went 3-4 with the three homers, six driven in and four runs scored and gave Akron a 1-0 lead with a solo shot in the second inning. The Zips doubled their lead in the third on a sacrifice fly before the Kent State offense got going in the bottom of the inning. Kent State loaded the bases in both the second and the third and dented the plate in the third on a Collin Mathews' sac fly.
