There’s a certain luxury that comes with having two 1,000-point scorers on the same team.
That advantage roared to the forefront for Akron women’s basketball coach Jodi Kest on Wednesday in a 78-66 Mid-American Conference East Division win over visiting Kent State.
The Zips (13-11, 7-6) didn’t play well in the first half against the Golden Flashes (5-18, 2-11), but had Hannah Plybon (30 points) there to keep things relatively close.
In the second half, it was Anita Brown (17 points) stepping up, as Akron handed Kent State its 14th loss in the last 16 games.
