KENT, Ohio – Kent State prevented visiting Akron from making a basket for the final 9:30 of Wednesday night's 68-50 in a Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge contest inside of the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes (16-10, 9-6 MAC) limited the Zips to its lowest scoring output of the season while shooting a season-worst 30.2 percent on 16-of-53 from the field. Redshirt senior Megan Carter had a career-high four steals and sophomore Lindsey Thall rejected three shots as Kent State held its rival under 60 points for the fourth meeting in a row.
