KENT, Ohio — Kent State bounced back from a loss Wednesday evening with a wire-to-wire 73-51 victory over rival Akron at the M.A.C. Center on Saturday.
The Golden Flashes (16-8, 11-3 MAC) have held the Zips to 60 points or fewer in every contest during the current four-game rivalry winning streak.
Kent State shot 26-of-49 from the field for 53.1%, its best accuracy against a Division I opponent this season. Redshirt senior Katie Shumate scored a game-high with 18 points and was joined in double-figures by freshman Janae Tyler (16) and junior Jenna Batsch (12).
