CLEVELAND – Kent State's Jake Wickey and Alexandre Malanda have earned awards for their performances at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, as the conference announced its 2022 men's indoor track and field postseason awards Wednesday morning.
Wickey was named Most Outstanding Field Performer, as voted on by the head coaches in the conference, for the second year in a row. The Medina native defeated a pair of top-5 nationally ranked competitors to capture his record-setting fourth weight throw title with a winning mark of 73'-11.75". Wickey will conclude his final indoor season at the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the City of Birmingham.
