KENT, Ohio – Jaylin Walker scored a season-high 26 points and Adonis De La Rosa eclipsed career highs with 24 points and 14 rebounds as Kent State opened its home Mid-American Conference schedule with an 85-69 win over Central Michigan on Saturday at the M.A.C. Center.
Walker and De La Rosa led a quartet of Golden Flashes scoring in double figures as Kevin Zabo added 17 points and Jalen Avery scored 12 in KSU's wire-to-wire victory.
The Flashes (7-8, 1-1) shot 49-percent from the field and 42-percent from the foul line against a Chippewas team that entered the game with the best scoring defense in the MAC, allowing just 64 points per night.
