KENT, Ohio – Kent State defeated Morgan State and Niagara on Saturday at the M.A.C. Center to finish second at the Golden Flashes Classic. The Golden Flashes earned a 3-1 (26-24, 25-18, 15-25, 25-21) win over Morgan State in the day's first match and then defeated Niagara in straight sets, 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-16).
"We are really happy with how the team responded after last night," said head coach Don Gromala. "I felt that we slowly got better throughout the day as we got comfortable with a new lineup. We had a really strong finish this evening, especially in our offensive execution.
