Kent State sophomore 133-pounder Anthony Tutolo came away with a sixth place at the 35th annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational Saturday. Tutolo won his first two matches of the day to make his way into the consolation semifinals.
Capturing the biggest victory of his career in his first match of the day, Tutolo topped two-time All-American Earl Hall (Iowa State) 9-8. Ranked as high as No. 4 in national polls and the No. 2 seed in the tournament, Hall jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one period. Tutolo closed the gap to 6-3 with a takedown late in the second period.
