BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Three Kent State University men's golfers, Ian Holt, Chase Johnson and Tyler McHugh, will begin play Monday in the 116th U.S. Amateur Championship at the Oakland Hills Country Club.
The seven day USGA event runs from Aug. 15-21. Started in 1895, the tournament is the oldest USGA championship. Some of golf's most illustrious names have won the tournament over the years, including Bobby Jones, Chick Evans, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods.
