Thomas Takes Fourth in the Discus to Close Out NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Just two days removed from winning a national championship, Kent State's Danniel Thomas returned the circle at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday, and captured fourth-place in the discus at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Throwing in flight two, Thomas finished with a top mark of 56.61m (185' 8") to take fourth overall, and earn All-America First Team honors for the second time this week. Shadae Lawrence of Kansas State captured the national title with a heave of 61.37m (201' 4").

One of the most distinguished athletes in Kent State history, Thomas finishes her collegiate career as a national champion, a 10-time All-American and a nine-time Mid-American Conference champion.
