KENT, Ohio – Kent State's Danniel Thomas threw 18.32 meters (60' 1.25") in the shot put Saturday at the Kent State Tune Up, breaking multiple records including the Jamaican national record, the Kent State indoor track and field record and the Kent State Field House record.
The Westmoreland, Jamaica native and 2016 Olympian, unleashed her record-breaking mark of 18.32m on her second attempt of the day, as she now ranks eighth in the world and second amongst Division I athletes.
Taking second and third in the women's shot put was Rebecca Leppelmeier and Ada Nicholson-Burley with marks of 14.
