ASHLAND, Ohio – Kent State track and field's Danniel Thomas continued her dominance Saturday at the Ashland Open, setting a career-best mark and new Kent State shot put record of 18.49m (60' 7.75"). Golden Flashes also competed at the Drake Relays Saturday, a rainy conclusion to the esteemed meet.
After a lengthy rain delay, Thomas hit a career-best mark twice Saturday, throwing 18.32m (60' 1.25") on her second attempt and then unleashing on her sixth and final attempt for a winning mark of 18.49m (60' 7.75"). Her mark ranks second in the nation, just one inch behind Raven Saunders of Ole Miss.
