GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kellon Thomas dropped in a runner as he slipped in the lane with 21 seconds to play, lifting Kent State to a 61-60 victory at North Carolina A&T State on Wednesday.
The Golden Flashes' defense came up with one final stop after Thomas reclaimed the lead, forcing NCA&T's Ahmad Abdullah to miss a contested jumper with four seconds on the clock, then racing down the loose-ball rebound as time ran out.
Thomas finished with 14 points to lead the Golden Flashes, who improved to 8-4 on the season heading into their final non-conference game against Oberlin on Saturday at the M.
