KENT, Ohio - Kent State began the 2015-2016 season with a successful first day at the Golden Flashes Gala in the Kent State Field House on Friday, December 11th.
In the women's long jump for the Golden Flashes, sophomore Cayla Carey came away in first with a mark of 5.39m (17' 8.25"). Also for finishing in first for Kent State was Aspen Gaita, with 3,394 points in the pentathlon. Coming in behind Gaita in second was Chelsea Laury who finished with 3,380 points.
In the 5000m run, sophomore Morgan Bing finished in second place with a time of 18:39.
