AKRON, Ohio – Freshman Layne Studer cleared 17'-5.5" for a new personal-best in the men's pole vault competition as Kent State competed at the Al Campbell Invitational on Friday.
Studer set a PR for the third week in a row, this time vaulting all the way to the No. 3 spot on the Golden Flashes' all-time indoor performance list and placed third in a loaded field that had five competitors clear 17'. Kristian Kneffler, who broke the school record two weeks ago, tied for fourth with a height of 17'-1.
