MUNCIE, Ind. – Kent State senior Craig Stevens, Jr. made history on Saturday by winning his third consecutive outdoor men's triple jump title at the 2019 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Stevens, Jr. accomplished the feat with a top jump of 51'-11.75" during the competition. He joins Eastern Michigan's Donald Scott as the only three-time champions in conference history, but Scott's titles came over a four-year span. A three-time All-American (two outdoor, one indoor) in the event, Stevens, Jr. closed his career by winning four of his final five MAC triple jump competitions, which includes a victory at the 2018 MAC Indoor Championships.
