KENT, Ohio – The Kent State softball team (13-18, 3-2 MAC) split a midweek Mid-American Conference doubleheader with Ohio (25-12, 6-2 MAC) at the Diamond at Dix on Tuesday afternoon. The Flashes won a pitcher's duel game one 2-1 and fell in the nightcap 10-2.

Despite Ohio scoring first with a solo home run in the second, Kent State answered in the bottom half of the frame to tie the game. Brenna Brownfield doubled and Hunter Brancifort doubled in pinch runner Olivia Sborlini to even the score at one.
