CLEVELAND – Two student-athletes on the Kent State soccer team have earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday.
Freshman Kelsey Salopek earned Offensive Player of the Week honors, while junior Dalaney Ranallo was named the Defensive Player of the Week. The duo helped lead the Golden Flashes to wins over Ohio and Akron in the first weekend of conference play.
Salopek totaled three goals on five shots during a breakout week for the freshman. Her first collegiate goal and first career brace came against Ohio on Thursday night, and she was responsible for the only goals scored by either side on the evening.
