KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's soccer team forced a 1-1 draw with Colgate at Dix Stadium on Sunday afternoon in front of one of the largest crowds in program history.
Neither team could gain much of an advantage over the other through the first thirty minutes, as both the Golden Flashes (1-0-1) and Raiders (1-0-1) were able to find attacking opportunities, but strong defense and solid goalkeeping led to a scoreless half-hour. Colgate was able to break the deadlock first, scoring off of a counter-attack in the in the 34th minute. Though the Flashes got a couple of very good looks at goal, Colgate held the 1-0 advantage at the break.
