CLEVELAND – Kent State sophomore Alexander Shields has been named Mid-American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Shields clocked a personal-best 14.14 seconds at the Raleigh Relays in his outdoor season opener, the fastest wind-legal 110-meter hurdles time by a MAC athlete this year. His time is the best by a Kent State hurdler since 2016 and tied for the fifth-fastest time in school history.
The Golden Flashes will head to Ashland University for the Northeast Ohio Quad on Saturday, April 2. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.
