BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- Kent State fought back from a double-digit deficit in the opening minutes of the second half, but Bowling Green kept the Flashes at bay and protected home court with a 77-72 victory on Friday night.
The Golden Flashes (20-9, 9-7 MAC) took a 55-54 lead at the 8:41 mark in the second half and never let the Falcons pull ahead more than five points. A layup from junior Philip Whittington cut Bowling Green's lead to one, 71-70, but Bowling Green kept the Flashes from re-gaining the lead.
Senior Jaylin Walker led the Flashes with a game-high 26 points and five rebounds.
