NOBLESVILlE, Ind.- Sophomore Chloe Salort led the charge for the Kent State women's golf team in Friday's opening round of the Mid-American Conference Championships. Salort, who is tied for third, carded a 3-over 75 at the par-72, 6,025-yard Purgatory Golf Club to help the Flashes finish with a team score of 17-over 305.
Kent State is two strokes behind tournament leader Toledo and five strokes ahead of third-place Northern Illinois. The Flashes excelled on the par-3 holes, finishing at 1-over and leading the tournament. Kent State also leads the tournament with 10 birdies.
Junior Karoline Stormo and freshman Thitapa Pakdeesettak are both tied for fifth at 4-over 76.
