ANNAPOLIS – Four Kent State wrestlers earned top four finishes Saturday at the 41st annual Navy Classic inside Wesley Brown Field House. The Golden Flashes placed eighth of 16 teams with 62.5 points as Michigan State won the team title.
For the second time in as many tournaments, junior Tim Rooney placed third at 133. Rooney went 5-1 on the day, never allowing more than four points in any of his six matches. In his consolation semifinal bout, he scored a takedown in sudden victory for a 3-1 win over Indiana's Garrett People.
