CLEVELAND – Kent State senior Bryn Roberts has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Roberts averaged 5.29 digs per set to lead a Golden Flashes defense that held Miami to a .184 hitting percentage. The libero tallied her 1,000th career dig during a 3-0 victory on Friday to open the weekend. Roberts then had 26 digs, the most in a four-setter during MAC play, on Saturday. She was perfect in 28 service reception opportunities.
Kent State will play on the road the next two weekends, beginning with a pair of matches at Bowling Green on Oct.
