CLEVELAND — Kent State freshman Kylie Ringler has been named Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
In just her second collegiate start, Ringler threw the fifth perfect game in Golden Flashes history in an 8-0 win over Howard on Saturday evening. She recorded seven strikeouts and retired all 15 Bison batters who stepped to the plate. Of the 52 pitches thrown by the freshman, 37 went for strikes.
The Flashes will play four games this weekend at the University of Kentucky's John Cropp Classic.
