YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team traveled to Youngstown State on Saturday to take on the Penguins. But it would be YSU who came away with this one, beating the Golden Flashes, 18-11.
Youngstown State entered the game with a record of 8-7 overall (6-2 in the MAC) and possession of third place in the Mid-American Conference. The Golden Flashes, meanwhile, had an overall record of 5-19 (2-6 in the MAC) and were ranked fourth in the conference standings.
For Kent State, the highlight of the game in a losing effort came in the first quarter, when sophomore Jackie Wolford scored her 38th goal of the season, tying the all-time Kent State record.
