During the final round of the Cabarrus County Irish Creek Collegiate in Kannapolis, N.C., the University of Akron men’s golf team climbed four spots on the leaderboard to finish eighth overall with four performances in the low 70s.
The Zips had the third-best final team score of 3-over 287 on Sunday, finishing the 54-hole event with a 33-over 885.
J.B. Williams led the Zips through the final round with a 1-under par 70. Yann Pfeiffer and Elliott Grayson both were 1-over 72.
UA’s low scorer for the tournament, George Baylis, followed with a 2-over 73.
Wake Forest finished first in the 16-team tournament.
