The University of Akron and Kent State football teams had several players honored as the Mid-American Conference released its postseason awards on Wednesday.
Zips outside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert was named to the All-MAC first team defense and JoJo Natson was named first team punt return specialist to lead UA’s postseason awards. Natson, a wide receiver, was also named to the All-MAC second team offense.
Zips wide receiver Jerome Lane Jr. (Firestone) and placekicker Tom O’Leary were named to the third team offense.
Kent State lineman Terence Waugh was named to the defensive first team for the second consecutive year.
