University of Akron women’s track team member Jackie Siefring registered a 10th-place finish in the women’s heptathlon on the final day of the United States Track and Field Outdoor National Championships in Sacramento. Siefring totaled 5,652 points in two days of events.
On Sunday, Siefring was eighth in the long jump and 12th in the javelin. Siefring saved her best for last running the 800 meters in a career-best time of 2:13.73, the third-fastest time in the race.
Former Zips All-American and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Clayton Murphy, now running for Nike, was a late scratch from the finals of the 800 meters.
