The first of four University of Akron swimmers competing at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., placed 59th overall in the women’s 100-meter butterfly.
Senior Erin Seiler recorded a time of 1:00.84. She was third in her heat and improved on her initial seed 25 spots in the standings among 135 competitors.
Two-time NCAA title holder Kelsi Worrell of Louisville is the top seed and will compete in Monday’s finals.
The time trials began Sunday and continue through July 3.
