The Kent State women’s basketball team improved to 2-0 Monday night with an 80-67 win over visiting Eastern Kentucky at the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes raced out to 47-26 halftime lead, led by Larissa Lurken, who scored 17 of her game-high 27 points in the first half. Jordan Korinek (St. Vincent-St. Mary) added 20 points and Chelsi Watson had 11 off the bench. Lurken also had a game-high 10 rebounds, and Korinek chipped in nine more.
Overall, the Flashes hit 50 percent of their shots from the floor (27-of-54), and led 42-21 in rebounds and 22-6 in points off the bench.
