The 15th-ranked Kent State women’s golf team, moved up to second place after the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic Monday. The Golden Flashes tallied a second consecutive round of 5-over-293 and are now 10-over at 586.
Furman, with a team score of 7-over-583, leads the tournament in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Furman and Kent State are both looking to become the first non-Power 5 conference team to ever win the event.
All five Flashes, led by Wad Phaewchimplee (tie for 12th, 2 over) are within four strokes of each other.
