The Kent State University men’s golf team is in first place with an 11-over 579 after day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships in Sylvania, Ohio.
Gisli Sveinbergsson carded a 1-over 143 in Thursday’s first two rounds and is in fourth-place individually. Bjarki Petursson is 2 over and sits in fifth place for the Flashes.
Eastern Michigan is in second place with a team score of 15 over, while the University of Akron is currently tied for sixth place with a team score of 35 over.
Ian Holt (Stow) is tied for sixth place and Chase Johnson (Walsh Jesuit) is tied for eighth place for the Flashes.
