Kent State University senior Chelsea Laury and redshirt freshman TJ Lawson (Stow) competed in the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday.
Lawson completed the first day of the relays in seventh place in the decathlon with 3,883 points after finishing among the top 10 in four of the five events. She placed second in the high jump (6-foot-8) and sixth in the long jump (23-4½).
Laury is 18th in the heptathlon with a 3,130 points. She placed 11th in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 24.92 seconds, and also recorded a personal-best 35-5¾ in the shot put.
