The Kent State wrestling team participated in two tournments on Tuesday, and the No. 16 Golden Flashes did not disappoint with a champion and several runner-ups at the Lock Haven Classic.
Kyle Conel defeated Bucknell’s Tyler Greene with a 9-4 decision to win the 197-pound bracket and lead the Flashes to a fifth-place finish at the Lock Haven Classic in Lock Haven, Pa.
The Flashes finished with 54.5 points, 40 points behind champion Pittsburgh.
Cole Baxter finished runner-up in the 184 pound division with a 16-0 technical fall at the hands of Bucknell’s Tom Sleigh. Jariod James also had to settle for runner-up in the 165 pound division.
