The Kent State women’s basketball team was defeated 73-60 by Eastern Michigan in the opening round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament Monday in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Sophomore forward McKenna Stephens led the Golden Flashes (6-23, 3-15) with 19 points. Sophomore forward Jordan Korinek (St. Vincent-St. Mary) and junior guard Larissa Lurken added 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Junior guard Cha Sweeney notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists for the Eagles (20-10, 10-8). Junior guard Janay Morton had a team-high 17 points, connecting on 3-of-4 from 3-point range.
